Jona Fierro

Jona Fierro was born in Mugnano (Naples) in 1997. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, studying painting, and graduated with a master’s degree in 2022. He worked as a production assistant at the Galleria Tiziana Di Caro (2022) and the Galleria Umberto di Marino (2023), as well as working as an assistant to Diego Cibelli and Eugenio Tibaldi. His longest collaboration was with Gian Maria Tosatti at his studio in Naples, where he developed and identified his own artistic style. With the ex director of the Quadriennale and main artist of the 59th Venice Biennale, since 2021 she has contributed to the creation of exhibitions and events around Italy.
His artistic practice is an act of resistance and investigation. With the help of a focused and precise artistic language, which has the ability to strike a chord deep within the observer, Fierro seeks to interrupt the flow of pure exteriority, not offering definitive answers, but focusing on asking fundamental and existentialist questions. In this sense, art becomes a mirror and a catalyst: it pushes the individual to calibrate their sensitivity, to look beyond the ephemeral glitz and to recover an authentic connection with themselves and the world. A multidisciplinary and site-specific approach, in which technique adapts to what needs to be told.
While awaiting his first solo exhibition, he has participated in collective projects and has been a finalist for two consecutive years in the Combat Prize and Novicelli Prize, expanding his presence in dedicated venues.
