Sara Fenicia
Sara was born in Pisa in 1998. She attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where she graduated in Painting in 2023. During the same years, she studied goldsmithing in Florence at the Ugolini atelier (Fi747) and attended a two-year specialisation course in goldsmithing at the Istituto Fiorentino di Porta Romana.
In 2024, Sara began working with several art galleries, such as the Candy Snake Gallery in Milan, and attended a master’s degree course in Contemporary Jewellery at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. During the same period, she worked at the Vergombello jewellery workshop (Ve16) and began studying at Giovanni Corvaja’s jewellery studio in Todi.
Sara’s work ranges from painting to goldsmithing.
Sara’s painting speaks through the representation of small scenes from a personal and ancient world. The images are animated by simple figures, which act out, within the space of the work, evoking an ancient and forgotten world.
Archaic Western and Eastern art is part of the artist’s imagination, as are archaeological finds from the classical world.
The study of ancient jewellery also takes on particular importance. Their synthesis in form, their articulation according to solids and voids that outline their designs. The body of work is therefore characterised by the desire to preserve traces, as in an ancient fresco, of scenes and characters, sometimes suggestions, from everyday life. The works are deeply linked to the idea of a life in contact with nature, where humans and animals move in the same space.
