Memorie di uno sciagurato
“Memorie di un sciagurato” (Memoires of a wretch) is a project by Angelo Mosca in collaboration with Luca Piciocchi and Gabriella Pascale. “Complementari sporchi” is the title of the work in the centre of the room and offers a prism through which to read the whole show. Read the exhibition through the colours! The colours thicken, condense, dilute, overlap, dissolve and reassemble in a kind of perpetual dance. And so the images come together, break up, disappear and reappear. We imagine this exhibition as deep mining into 20 carefully selected works created between 2006 and 2022, which highlight the main periods in the artist’s career. From the “re-emergence” painting of the late 1990s, passing through the work of the early 2000s, we come to the “Reverso” period and the “Ritrovamenti” of 2010. The retrospective concludes with the “Drain Off” cycle of works, where all the previous experiences are amalgamated and the subsequent steps are glimpsed The painting never stops evolving: sometimes there is a pause and perhaps a state of crisis, but it always emerges again. To mark the exhibition, 480 Site Specific has renewed its partnership with Galleria Acappella to publish a special issue of the “Rivista Acappella 480”, with texts by Angelo Mosca, Arianna Rosica and Alberto Mugnaini.
