Why can’t I go?

In January 2024, the artists Katharina Sophia Hüttermann and Francesca Fogliano present a project born from an intimate and personal question that gives the exhibition its title. This question reflects an existential condition that they both feel deeply, and which they address through their performance art. The exhibition explores the relationship between space, time and the human condition, intertwining and creating a sense of expectation and control that often weighs on the individual. The artists investigate uncertainty and the constant search for security, highlighting how relationships with others can hide internal conflicts.

Francesca Fogliano, through dance, expresses the impossibility of moving forward, of leaving the past and going towards the unknown and in confrontation with death. His movements reflect a flow of consciousness, between anchoring and moving beyond.

Katharina Sophia Hüttermann, with the video performance, focuses on a comparison with herself and with others, in relation to love and collaboration, using the repetition of gestures to overcome emotional detachment. At the exhibition, visitors will be able to witness a fusion of media: video performances projected by Katharina Sophia Hüttermann and a live performance by Francesca Fogliano. This dialogue between movement and image will offer the public new perspectives on profound and ever-current human issues. The collaboration with the artist Lea Pedri Stocco is the visual consecutio of the messages expressed: her corporeal and instinctive art reflects the public to the stimuli received and their deepest emotions. The project aims to give space to reflections on aspects of life often overlooked in a frenetic and superficial world. Through the exposure of their most intimate experiences, the artists invite the public to explore those essential dimensions of existence that usually remain hidden.
